RYA POWER BOAT Level 2 Course:

We usually run two RYA Power boat Level 2 courses during the sailing season. These are two day courses, run only for club members. The club has a selection of tiller and wheel steered boats which you will use during the course. These courses are run by our Power Boat Instructor Team at a very reasonable cost, as we expect members to use their new found skills to perform their club duties.

RYA SAFETY BOAT Course with tidal endorsement:

Once a year, alongside one of our sailing weekends at Cobnor Activity Centre, our Power Boat Instructors run a two day RYA Safety Boat Course. To be eligible you must hold the RYA Power boat Level 2 qualification and have at least a year's experience. An RYA Small Boat First Aid qualification is also strongly advised (the club holds one of these around February time most years).

It is a very interesting course and enables drivers to practice rescue scenarios which might occur whilst covering club racing, cruising or Seamanship courses. This course is more expensive, but still very reasonably priced compared with those run at commercial centres. You can either come down very early each day, or most participants pay a supplement for accommodation and food from either Friday evening or Saturday morning. Preference will be given to Instructors; sea racing support helms, parent helpers at Cobnor or those supporting Chichester Harbour club cruises.
