Community Spaces at CMYC

CommunitySpaces-wide

We wish to share this view with local community groups because we believe being outdoors next to nature, watching the ripples and wildlife on the water helps relieve stress and improves wellbeing.

What facilities are there?

We have a number of classic garden chairs that can be put outside the Clubhouse plus several bench style picnic tables with one situated on a paved path with a single wheelchair position. All other surfaces are loose stone including the car park although there is ample parking.

Our Clubhouse has a small hall with large glazed doors looking over the lake and a small kitchen to one side with kettle, fridge and microwave. Tea, coffee & milk is available. We have two separate male and female changing rooms with toilets as well as a separate disabled toilet.

How many people can you accommodate and for how long?

We wish to support small groups, potentially from local residential care homes, with their own minibus and anticipate this could be for up to 10 including carers for about an hour at a time.

Who looks after the visiting group?

All care and responsibility remains with the visiting group. We will provide a host who will unlock the grounds, welcome you, show you the facilities and lock up after your visit.

Who else will be there?

We understand Safeguarding is important and will arrange your visit when there are no other planned activities. Sailing Club members are free to attend at any time however, these numbers are very small during the working week. Pre-booking is required for all visits.

Can I come and visit before I bring a group?

Yes of course. We are a friendly Club and want your visit to be an enjoyable one.

How much does it cost?

We are introducing this initiative in April 2025 and wish to offer this free of charge. If this becomes valuable to you, we will discuss any fee in relation to the visiting groups status for the provision of tea and coffee etc.

How do we arrange a visit?

Simply contact us via our contact form and we aim to respond within five working days. Once we have established contact, we will work with you to find a date that suits you and one of our Volunteers to welcome you on the day.

Where is Hedgecourt Lake located?

See the map on our contact page.

We look forward to welcoming you to our Community Space at Crawley Mariners Yacht Club.
