We are pleased to annouce that CMYC are a new MYA Club in the Met & Southern District.
Seven visitors travelled some considerable distances to Hedgecourt Lake for the Crawley Mariners Y.C. Comet open meeting on Saturday 14th September.
When taking control of a sailing boat it gives one a great sense of achievement knowing that you will be able to sail it with confidence no matter what the conditions. Yes, you may try and choose ideal conditions but if the weather turns foul, then it’s nice to have the skills to get back home safely.
Happy New Year!
2024 will provide more opportunities with new events being planned for the programme and we’ve crossed our fingers for better weather too. It is amazing to see what can be achieved at Crawley Mariners when you combine all that is available from one Club. My thanks to those that make it all happen and to you all for participating.
It is also that time for setting New Year’s Resolutions. What do you want to achieve in 2024 at CMYC? For me I plan to help you, our members, enjoy your sport safely, by making the most of what we have on offer.
Our very own Cruising Co-ordinator, Donal, was among the volunteers whose invaluable contributions across sailing and boating communities were celebrated by Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal, President of the RYA, at an awards ceremony in central London.
CMYC had one of the smaller teams but achieved big results!
The nesting season for the colony of Common Terns is complete which means that the exclusion zone at the southwest corner of the lake can now be used by paddlers. Sailing boats would do well to keep to the east of the line of white marker buoys as there is only very shallow water in the marked off area and huge amounts of weed.
What makes these tracks in the mud at the bottom of the lake?
A fantastic weekend at Cobnor, see the video here.
